This is why I click "hour-by-hour"…perhaps this will hope you figure it out:

Yeah, hour by hour shows early Sunday morning being the coldest. The 26 is meant to represent early Sunday. They'll get it wrong anyways. They always do.

The High and Low are just ranges during the day (the whole 24 hours). They are telling us that the lowest it will reach from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm that day is 28. Just like the highest (they think) it can possibly reach all day is 42. That is also why the "high" temp is on top because they give us the high's and low's of the day. It does not mean they come in that order.

One more thing to note is that they really have no idea what it will be. With all our technological advances, weather is one thing that is extremely hard to predict. It's more of a general observation than a prediction.

26 is the absolute coldest it will be at any time from 12:00 AM Saturday until 11:59 PM Saturday. 42 is the absolute hottest it will be at any time from 12:00 AM Saturday until 11:59 PM Saturday. So

    See… This is the problem!

Neil and Jess, That's not right.
After researching and crosschecking with the hour by hour forecast, the low listed for each day is actually the low for the following day (through the night and following morning). The weathermen have gotten it wrong all this time.

I suppose the best way to look at it is a say is sunrise to sunrise – not midnight to midnight.

Neil… see my response to Jess :)

It cut off my answer for some reason. Anyways, you were right, I was wrong. Good to know!
