Legislation might be a good tool at mandating morality, but it’s ineffective at accomplishing the work of Jesus

Justice ends the conversation. Salvation begins one. We have to change our minds about the brokenness of ourselves and the world if we’re going to see the Kingdom come.

In our attempts to justify our behavior, we’ve distorted who Jesus is and who we were designed to be.

1 Corinthians 7 seems like one of the most avoided passages in the Bible. But – with a few exceptions of teachings on divorce earlier in the New Testament – 1 Corinthians 7 is the first teaching we see on the idea of marriage. It tells us that “It is good for a man not to marry.”

Do we perform the actions of Jesus or do we take on his being?
