Butterfly In The Sky : Shot Down

John Grant, chief content officer of Reading Rainbow’s home station announced that today will be the show’s last day on the air. The Wall Street Journal reports that

Grant said that the Department of Education and PBS are spending more money on teaching kids how to read, not on teaching them to savor the act itself.

Oddly enough Levar Burton, the show’s host, is an avid Twitter user with over one million followers.  However, he hasn’t updated his twitter status since the 19th of August.  So no comment from him at this point.

It’ll be missed.
